How Do We Teach Our Children The Importance Of Money

We remember when we were younger every Sunday, we got our allowance.
I started getting an allowance when I was 11 years old. We were told, if we
want to get an allowance, we had to earn it, as it is not just going to be given
to you. So we were wondering how we are going to earn it.

Our parents knew what was going to happen, but there solution on giving an
allowance, was not what we were thinking of. You see, it was chores that we
had to do,which made it worthwhile to be provided to us. I remember what
my father said. How are you going to learn responsibility, if I just give it to you.

It did make sense, and I figured the chores I needed to do, was not going to be
hard we thought. Well it wasn't hard, which was a relief to me. What I had to do,
was take the garbage out every day, keep my room clean, and every so often, help
your mother, by going to the store, to pick up something that was needed.

When we were younger, we didn't have the same problems of today. We didn't have
to worry, that we were going to be robbed, and morals were distributed equally among
citizens where we lived.. So I didn't complain on doing chores. Well the allowance was
short lived, as it only lasted until I was 136, when I told my parents, that I no longer

wanted to get an allowance from them. I told them, I got a part time job at the diner
accross the street from our house. The owners knew my parents, and my parents let me
work, as it was a way I was going to learn responsibility. I became a busboy, 3 days a
week, from 5:30 P.M. until 9:30. I was pleased as I was getting an amount more then my
allowance. This was the best way to learn responsibility, and I agreed.
